Franzia Kafka asked: Associated Press: “Prime-time men showing softer side.”
News flash: MEN HUMAN BEINGS WITH EMOTIONS.
“”We still have a deep-seated need for the man being the rescuer, the man being the hero,” says Warren Farrell, author of numerous books on men, including the best-seller, “Why Men Are the Way They Are.” “We’re sending a huge mixed message to men. First we want the football player and then we blame him for being rough and insensitive with women.”"
Gee, men kind of liked being the heroes in most of the movies and television shows I watched recently that were written and directed and generally entirely *made* BY OTHER MEN (see Spielberg). I guess they don’t like receiving those terrible mean mixed messages - kind of like the ones women have gotten for millennia, and still get today.
Ha. So, anyway, who else of you is pretty sure Warren loved the free advertising for his academically worthless book?
Oops. It’s a Yahoo! News article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070820/ap_en_tv/ap_on_tv_male_bonding . Absurd. Is this 2007?
Kendrick, always good to see your brilliant insights. By the way, you look especially lovely tonight.
